Apple pomace is the residue of apple juice. After washing, peeling, juicing, drying, animals like eating apple pomace. And it’s rich in fiber, so it can help the digestion of animals.

Apple pulp is the skin, core and part of pulp left after fresh apple juice, after processing can be used for livestock and poultry feed. Apple pulp is of high nutritional value, good palatability, containing special fruit smell all kinds of livestock and poultry like to eat. Using apple meal as feed material, it can replace part of corn and bran, and supplement oil cake protein feed appropriately. It can reduce production cost and improve feed utilization rate.

Apple pomace is rich in nutrients such as starch, protein, fat, and amino acids, but the nutrient content varies greatly due to different origins, varieties, and production processes.

Amino acids are relatively abundant in apple pomace, and there are up to 17 types, with essential amino acids accounting for 36.6%; among the 8 essential amino acids, only histidine and valine have a variation of more than 20%, and the rest are all below 20%.

Apple pomace contains active substances such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and malic acid. The water extraction method can obtain 1.44 g GAE/100 g DM from apple pomace, and the water extract contains 2.5%~9.6% polyphenols and flavonoids. Studies have found that apple pomace has the functions of regulating sugar metabolism, improving animal immunity and antioxidant capacity, etc.
